I feel one of the key factors will be the working relationship between the new Head Coach and Steve Gallen, Director of Football. Without knowing any of the background and trying to second guess what has gone on, it does seem clear though that Neil Harris did not fully buy into the 'new direction' as laid out by the club. It would appear that he wanted to be the 'Manager' notwithstanding the fact he was appointed as Head Coach and presumably must have known at the outset what his remit was in terms of recruitment etc. With the January transfer window coming up it is a good time for appointing a new Head Coach and if he and Steve Gallen can get their act together and both be pulling in the same direction hopefully all will be well. Keep the faith.
The elephant in the room and the reluctance around Neil is style of play , not one of you mentioned that , Rowett and harris were not hounded out for results they were hounded out for style of play, if Neil plays boring defensive football its just like having Harris or Rowett , managers do have a set style of play regardless of squad everyone knows that , very strange for you not to know that, the fan base are sick of this attitude of we have to play shit football like harris and GR, this attitude is why we never move on , there are teams in every division that play good football, we can do the same, Neil if like rowett would be a disaster
Been told by multiple fans of other teams Neil has managed that he can suck the life out of the place completely, he is exactly like Rowett. If that is what you want then he is your man, for me I do not want to spend my money going up and down the country being bored to death like the back end of rowett football. Bloomfield or Schumacher for me
Defo a fear there with Neil, however Preston fans online have begged to differ and plenty saying they'd have him back. Tricky one but don't disagree with you.
If they are all that are in the running then I don’t think that there is much in it. Bloomfield is doing ok, but he knows his club and that might distort his potential. He is possibly the biggest risk, but also the biggest potential. Schumacher is in a similar situation with the downside being at the helm at Stoke. I wouldn’t hold that against him because of the career graveyard that has been generated there. I can’t make my mind up about Neil. I’m not sure he would be a step forward. He kind of reminds me of Rowett where he needs to rebuild his reputation.
Agree with a lot of that. I think the longer we went on recording this show the more I convinced myself that Neil wouldn't be a terrible shout, I think that sums it up isn't a terrible shout but not something getting me beyond enthused!
Out of the three Schumacher would be my first choice, Bloomfield has unfinished business at Wycombe and I feel he would regret walking away at this stage. Neil would be a safe pair of hands so not against him.
Leave Livermore in place until the end of the season. With around 8 players out of contract in the summer we need someone to clean house at that point. Livermore would keep us in the championship. The Edwards experiment nearly relegated us making a change mid season. The summer also offers a bigger choice of managers and players to sign.
Schumacher for me,o Neil is too safe for me,Bloomfield is a risk like Ainsworth,Schumacher has a point to prove, works on a budget,,bit harsh to lose job at Stoke ,but many do there and he’d be more pragmatic.
Felt like I was harsh on Schumacher when doing this, especially when I then read out the 101 point season with Plymouth, does have a point to prove after Stoke so not wrong there.
We are fucked writing is on the wall! Watch this board fall apart after this appointment. And all the Harris haters to blame something else other them selfs 😅 Tic tok 💣
We should not let tanganga go anywhere we were lucky to get him in the first place and will never be able to replace him, sell Esse yes but we cannot let tanganga go anywhere.
What is it with people still all over Harris , what games have you been watching this season saying harris football hasnt been poor, its been the same 1 striker chasing long balls etc ,woeful, creating nothing, scoring no more than 1 goal a game for months trying to scrape 1 0s
Insightful interview with Alex Neil well worth a watch. Certainly changed my perception of him. ruclips.net/video/_m1WdIROZ8I/видео.htmlsi=Rif4UQEelmhB2-wG
If we sold and had 20m i don't think that will be used to refresh and sign players....I think JB will take a lot of that as repayment...James is not his Dad...would not be surprised if he sells the club
Let's not forget. Whoever comes in as our new 'Head Coach' Will NOT be a manager. Firstly, I like Schumacker but he lost his job because of a clash with (Director of Football) Jon Waters at Stoke. Waters is holding the club back without a doubt. This being the case will Schu be able to work with Gallen? I doubt this very much. Which ever person takes this job will have a massive stumbling block, namely Gallen. Millwall need a manager not a head coach.
Robins managed Coventry in lower leagues ,hes not above us he needs a break and quoted that, agree we need to re realistic but you guys went to far the other way ,throughout the 90s we were often on the brink of promotion so we are not as little old Millwall as you and harris kept suggesting, we should have some ambition ffs
Great show lads and Merry Christmas. Each 3 I wouldn’t mind for different reasons and let’s honour Neil by getting right behind whoever it is.
Great show lads have a proper decent Christmas 🦁
Cheers Connor you too mate
Alex Neil football is dire but stability. Would bore us like Rowett. I’d have Schumacher attacking and a point to prove. Bloomfield interesting too.
Great show again lads.💙
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you!
Cheers lads have a great Xmas
Same to you!
Thanks pal you too.

Millwall loved in sweden
Out of the 3 I pick alex neil more experience
Alex Neil ADL his record is very good especially compared to the other two.
Also he's still young and we always do well with Jock Managers!
Aberdeens Jimmy Thelin 👍

Who a better manager rowett or Alex neil to any1
Denzil is Scouse
Mowbray for me
Alex Neil's Football style?
Having watched Shamrock rovers trying to play out from the back against Chelsea I'm glad he's kinda ruled out of the process 😅
Maybe a strong Assistant for a Headcoach like Bloomfield?
we need to be building towards the Premier, in my opinion
Out of the three Schumacher would be my first choice, Bloomfield has unfinished business at Wycombe and I feel he would regret walking away at this stage. Neil would be a safe pair of hands so not against him.
Pretty much sums up the vibes from us too there. On the face of it doesn't seem too inspiring but when you look into each they do have pro's in there.
Personally, I don't trust the board

Alex Neil Rowett football. Schumacher plays attacking football
If that's all we can attract then we're fucked.
We should not let tanganga go anywhere we were lucky to get him in the first place and will never be able to replace him, sell Esse yes but we cannot let tanganga go anywhere.
Should keep Esse fir one more season then we could get serious money for him
@DanielWynn-v7b can't see the club setting it at £10m if he had a buy out clause it would be between 10 & 15 I'd have thought
@DanielWynn-v7b how do you know?
@DanielWynn-v7b ok don't get touchy 😉 just thought you were throwing a number out there

Real decent managers won't come to Millwall as a head coach...also there is the financial ability
Because we don't want Rowett football again

@@charlesstolworthy219 not while that regeneration of Bermondsey is still on the table £20m is a drop in the ocean
Thats a good point@@wall-lion94
